On November 30, 2022, the CIBM Center for Biomedical Imaging Annual Symposium brought together members of the biomedical imaging community from Switzerland and beyond to share cutting-edge research developments in the field.

“It was a pleasure for me to participate at the meeting and to meet all my colleagues from the Arc Lémanique. Congratulations for organizing such a good meeting.”
Markus Rudin, ETHZ & CIBM Scientific Advisory Board

Following the success of CIBM’s 15th Anniversary event in 2019, the CIBM Annual Symposium 2022 established itself as the meeting place for the biomedical imaging community – researchers, neuroscientists and clinicians in Switzerland. Through open, fertile dialogue and contributions, this annual event aims to become a forum which will explore a vision of how to expand current methods and technologies for new growth over the next few years.

“It was a great honor to be invited to this wonderful symposium and I hope that our centers can continue to grow together in the future.“
Raphael Sznitman, ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, University of Bern

The event gathered 16 high-level speakers and 200 registered participants from across Switzerland generating 8286 views on Twitter. A full and stimulating scientific program included presentations and keynote talks on a wide range of biomedical imaging topics and applications. In addition, over 60 posters and 5 demos prepared by CIBM research staff scientists, PhD students, and collaborators were showcased.

“This extraordinary event heightened the sense of unity within the Lemanic biomedical imaging community and nicely documented new opportunities as much as the international standing of the CIBM and its members at large.”
Matthias Stuber, CIBM MRI CHUV-UNIL

The CIBM Annual Symposium 2022 was concluded with the official inauguration of the newly installed Siemens Healthineers MAGNETOM Terra 7T MRI scanner at the Campus Biotech in Geneva. This new generation of ultra-high-field scanner will benefit the entire scientific community and significantly strengthen new research developments in the region.

CIBM offers its heartfelt thanks to all the participants of the event and in particular to Mr. Benoit Dubuis, Director of Fondation Campus Biotech Geneva, and Mr. Bertrand Levrat, General-Director of University Hospital of Geneva for their support and inspiring words which embrace CIBM’s motto of Together,  Going Beyond.
