Thi Ngoc Anh Dinh

Postdoctoral researcher
CIBM PCI EPFL Metabolic Imaging Section

Thi Ngoc Anh Dinh received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Engineering Physics – Biomedical Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University, in 2017. Driven by a strong curiosity about brain science, she pursued advanced academic training abroad at a neuroscience research center and completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2024 at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), South Korea. Under the supervision of Dr. Seong-Gi Kim, her doctoral research focused on imaging the mouse visual brain network using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) under both awake and anesthetized conditions, and on applying silencing optogenetic fMRI to dissect this network in integration with other sensory systems, such as the barrel cortex.

After graduation, she joined the CIBM Center for Biomedical Imaging as a postdoctoral researcher in August 2025. At CIBM, she works with Dr. Cristina Cudalbu to establish metabolic connectivity using magnetic resonance spectroscopy imaging (MRSI) and to correlate it with structural (dMRI) and functional (fMRI) connectivity, with the goal of identifying global biomarkers related to chronic hepatic encephalopathy in animal models and translating these findings into clinical research.
