Gianna Nossa
CIBM MRI EPFL Animal Imaging and Technology Section
Gianna Nossa completed her Bachelors Degree in Neurobiology and Physiology at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, USA during which she assisted in research studying neuroinflammation in epilepsy. After receiving her bachelors degree, she started working as a researcher in macrophage-mediated immunosurveillance in cancer at the Beckman Research Institute at City of Hope in California, USA. As her passion for research grew, Gianna continued in a PhD position at Purdue University under the supervision of Dr. Ulrike Dydak and Dr. Joseph Rispoli. Her thesis was on the Acquisition of Reproducible Edited MR Spectroscopy and its application in neurological disorders, such as metal neurotoxicology, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and post-partum depression. In October 2024, Gianna started working as a postdoctoral-researcher at the CIBM Center for Biomedical Imaging on the project: “Developments of innovative fast acquisition and metabolic modelling strategies for clinical and preclinical deuterium MR imaging in the brain at ultra-high field” with PI Cristina Cudalbu.
