HOW TO COLLABORATE WITH 7T MRI EXPERTS?

Throughout the years, the CIBM Center for Biomedical Imaging has established and supported many fruitful collaborations with researchers around the world which has resulted in joint research funding, numerous publications, patents and technology transfer.

Since 2005, the CIBM has provided cutting-edge infrastructure at EPFL with the first head-only 7T MRI scanner in Switzerland. Over more than 15 years, CIBM researchers have significantly advanced MRI technologies at 7 Tesla. In 2021, the collaborative efforts of CIBM and FCBG successfully secured funding for a new clinical 7T MRI scanner, which was installed in 2022 at the Campus Biotech Geneva and operated by the FCBG MRI Platform.

The CIBM 7T MRI experts continue to innovate in ultra-high field human MR technology, offering their expertise for collaboration and furthering research in this field.

Steps to request R&D support and/or start a new collaborative research project with the CIBM 7T MRI experts:

  1.  The Principal Investigator (PI) is welcomed to contact a CIBM 7T MRI expert to discuss the new project and the study design or they can send an email to 7Tresearch@cibm.ch.
  2. After this initial contact, a discussion meeting between the PI and the CIBM 7T MRI experts will be organized.
  3. The PI or a representative of the lab will be invited to a 7T MRI R&D meeting to discuss collegially with MRI specialists the planned project. These meetings are designed to help the community find solutions and exchange experiences.
  4. Upon agreement to proceed with the collaboration, the PI will then be asked to fill in the  online Human MRI Research Project Application Form :
