CIBM SP EPFL Section Head, Michaël Unser, has been awarded the 2025 Norbert Wiener Society Award for his contributions and leadership to the theory and practice of signal processing and biomedical imaging.
Michaël Unser, Full Professor at EPFL’s School of Engineering, academic director of EPFL’s Center for Imaging, and head of CIBM SP EPFL Mathematical Imaging Section, has received the 2025 Norbert Wiener Society Award from the IEEE Signal Processing Society.
This prestigious honour recognises his pioneering advances in sampling theory, wavelets, splines for image processing, stochastic processes, and computational bioimaging, backed by over 400 journal publications.
He will accept the award at the 51st International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, ICASSP 2026, to be held between May 4 and May 8, 2026 in Barcelona, Spain.
