A Research Day focusing on MRI, held on  May 5 with the CIBM Center for Biomedical Imaging.  the University of Geneva’s Brain Behaviour Laboratory (BBL) and Fondation Campus Biotech Geneva (FCBG) gathered around 100 MRI experts in Geneva and the Lemanic region.

CIBM launched the first annual MRI research day in 2008, and opened the event to others  with MRI infrastructure such as BBL in 2010 and the Human Neuroscience Platform at FCBG in 2018.

This was the 13th edition, with the 2020 session postponed due to COVID-19.

The one-day event was an opportunity to review the status of ongoing MRI projects and activities, share experience and difficulties and benefit from a unique exchange platform between physicists, physicians  and neuroscientists.

In the opening session, Prof. Francois Lazeyras, Head of the CIBM MRI HUG UNIGE Section  highlighted the fact that, between them, 58 different studies on the three sites, 39 Principal investigators and a total of 2,990 hours of scan time,

The event featured speakers and posters from the Center for Neuroprosthetics (CNP) at EPFL and , the Dept of Clinical Neurosciences (NEUCLI) HUG, the Dept of Basic Neurosciences (NEUF), the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPSE), the Dept. of Radiology and Medical Informatics (RADIO), the Dept. of Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics (PETRI) and the Dept. of Psychiatry (PSYAT) from the  University of Geneva.
