CIBM – GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE FOR AN ESTABLISHED PARTNERSHIP IN BIOMEDICAL IMAGING

CIBM’s 15th  year anniversary in October, 2019, marks a true ‘coming of age’ for the CIBM as it matures from a newcomer into an established partnership for biomedical imaging in the Lemanic Arc and beyond. It is an opportune time for the center to reflect on its journey, acknowledge the achievements it has accomplished and give recognition to its members, collaborators and partners over the years.

CIBM is growing up to become a global player in the biomedical imaging community. CIBM’s Executive Director, Dr Pina Marzillano, a Canadian hailing most recently from Singapore, is leading CIBM with new objectives, to stimulate new collaborations to benefit medical science.

CIBM, a collaboration between five partner organizations along the Lemanic Arc, is harnessing synergies in a new structure to maximise potential for growth, new partners and new opportunities. Four newly shaped modules of EEG, MRI, SP and PET, correspond to common interests between the different members.

In recognition of the new structure, the Center has adopted a revised logo reflecting the dynamic partnership of the five institutions as well as the precision and excellence of the work that they perform.

This 15 year anniversary marks a true ‘coming of age’ for CIBM as it matures from a newcomer into an established partnership for biomedical imaging in the Lemanic Arc and beyond. With technological innovations, the importance of biomedical imaging for humanity becomes even more relevant.

CIBM members, collaborators, partners and stakeholders have contributed in research, teaching and service activities over the last 15 years. Long may that fruitful collaboration continue as the center continues on its journey to be a Swiss Research Center of Excellence in Biomedical Imaging.
