Dr. Lucie Bréchet , research staff scientist CIBM EEG HUG- UNIGE   has received the Career Development Award from the Synapsis Foundation– Alzheimer Research Switzerland ARS, which aims to support the best and most promising scientists to establish themselves as independent researchers and ultimately transition into a faculty position.

Dr. Bréchet is dedicated to improving memory and cognition in patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease as well as examining the normally aging population.

Dr. Bréchet combines her expertise in virtual reality, high density electroencephalography and functional magnetic resonance imaging with non-invasive brain stimulation methods to enhance memory functions.

The Synapsis Foundation – Alzheimer Research Switzerland ARS – supports research on Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders to find a cure in the near future, to raise awareness and to promote Switzerland as a research and economic centre.

The Foundation promotes innovative basic and clinical research on Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, welcoming high-risk proposals based on sound science and truly original ideas.
