TEACHING

CIBM is strongly committed to disseminating knowledge by organising a wide range of seminars. The CIBM Core members have also developed a series of graduate and undergraduate courses which are given at the founding partner institutions.

By supervising post-doctoral researchers and doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate students, and coaching interns, we are grooming the academic leaders of tomorrow, contributing to the growth of the research community in the Lemanic Region.

Courses

CIBM translational MR neuroimaging & spectroscopy – EPFL PHYS-770

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS) will be addressed in detail, along with experimental design, data gathering and processing on MRS, structural and functional MRI in humans and rodents, and hands-on experience with MRI scanners.

MRI Practicals on CIBM preclinical imaging systems – EPFL PHYS-473

The goal of this course is to teach students how to perform basic MRI and MRS experiments in-vivo and ex-vivo directly on preclinical horizontal ultra-high field MRI systems.

Seminars

BREAKFAST & SCIENCE SEMINARS

The CIBM Breakfast and Science Seminars unite the scientific community on a regular basis (every last Tuesday of the month) to exchange knowledge, foster research collaborations, and create a vibrant research center of excellence in biomedical imaging.

In general, seminars are composed of one 40-minute or two 20-minute presentations on a specific research area in biomedical imaging, followed by a 5-10-minute Q&A discussion.

The events are concluded with an interactive sharing session where audience members have an opportunity to share news and updates with each other or simply network with members of the CIBM community.

The Summer Edition of the CIBM Breakfast and Science Seminar series features PhD students affiliated to CIBM founding partner institutions to present their research work.

7T MRI SEMINAR SERIES

the 7T MRI Seminar Series bring together local and international experts to share their insights. This platform is designed to facilitate open discussions and intellectual exchange on the latest developments and research in the field of 7T MRI. We are committed to expanding academic networks and fostering collaborations among professionals.

Held monthly at the Campus Biotech in Geneva, our series is open to the public.

VISITORS TALK

The CIBM Visitors Talk series was initiated in 2023 after numerous requests to host and share announcement of talks from scientists and researchers visiting members of the CIBM Community. The UKRI-SNSF Scientific Exchange and the EUROTECH Visiting Researcher kickstarted the series early 2023.
