Pol del Aguila Pla
CIBM SP EPFL Mathematical Imaging Section
Pol del Aguila Pla is a research staff scientist at the CIBM and postdoctoral researcher at the EPFL’s Biomedical Imaging Group (Prof. Michaël Unser). His current research is on mathematical imaging for biomedical applications. Pol combines mathematical topics such as functional analysis, mathematical statistics, optimization, and signal processing with an engineering skillset and the goal of providing real improvements on the use of modalities such as positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and immunoassays. Pol is an electrical and telecommunications engineer (double degree from UPC in Barcelona and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm on 2014), and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology since September 2019.
