SUMMARY:RESAL Accredited Course on MR Imaging at CIBM PCI EPFL: from organoids to animal model
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the RESAL – Lemanic Animal Facility Network ( https://www.unil.ch/resal/en/home.html ) and the CIBM Pre-Clinical Imaging EPFL Metabolic Imaging Section ( https://cibm.ch/research/projects/metabolic-imaging/ ) is happy to announce its upcoming RESAL accredited symposium. This continuing education course aims to introduce researchers to advanced imaging technologies and their applications in preclinical research.\nAbout the Course\nThis course aims to introduce researchers to advanced imaging technologies and their applications in biomedical research with a particular focus on organoids and animal models. It will show how multimodal imaging approaches support the 3Rs principles: Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement in animal experimentation. Particular emphasis will be placed on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, all of which contribute to advancing translational biomedical research.\nThe  members who will be teaching and sharing their expertise are:\n\nCristina Cudalbu\n\nBernard Lanz\n\nKatarzyna Pierzchala\n\nEloïse Mougel\n\nPauline Leal\n\nJean-Baptiste Perot\nProgram Overview\n09:00 – 09:45 Non-invasive MR Imaging and MR spectroscopy: from theory to practice with in vivo examples\nCristina Cudalbu, CIBM PCI EPFL\n09:50 – 10:35 Metabolic modelling and PET: from theory to in vivo practice\nBernard Lanz, CIBM PCI EPFL\n———– Coffee Break ———–\n10:50 – 11:15 MRI and MRS of living brain organoids: exploring metabolism and microstructure over time\nEloïse Mougel, CIBM PCI EPFL\n11:20- 11:45 Characterization of a creatine transporter deficiency rat model using MRI\nPauline Leal, CHUV\n11:50 – 12:15 In vivo microstructure and functional imaging using advanced diffusion MRI\nJean-Baptiste Perot, CHUV\n12:20 – 12:45 Oxidative stress and inflammation: from theory to practice with ex vivo examples\nKatarzyna Pierzchala, CIBM PCI EPFL\n\nREGISTRATION\n\n
