DESCRIPTION:															\nIn the frame of the Health Days at EPFL/UNIL, next Tuesday, 29 September, in the Tinguely Espace of the Rolex Learning Center at EPFL, Lausanne, CIBM Flagship Project Officer Solange Denervaud will give a lecture entitled “Faire faux pour penser juste”.\nOur learning experiences shape our relationship with error, exploration and uncertainty. This lecture offers a neuroscientific perspective on educational environments, from primary school to university, as ecosystems that influence motivation, adaptation and the way we learn. Research in neuroscience and developmental psychology shows that these structures, particularly assessment methods, are not neutral: They steer learning towards error avoidance, performance optimisation and competition. In a context that values both excellence and innovation, a tension arises: how can we explore when mistakes come at a cost, and what are the implications for mental health?
