SUMMARY:Visitors Talk: Pratik Mukherjee, University of California UCSF
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased  to invite you to attend the CIBM Visitors Talk jointly organised between Frédéric Grouiller, CIBM MRI HUG-UNIGE Section and Felix Kurz, Neuroradiology Division of HUG on Monday June 22nd at 11:00 CEST by Pratik Mukherjee from the University of California, San Francisco who will be sharing on “Diffusion MRI: From Research to Clinic”.\nDate and time: Monday, March 22nd 2026 – 11:00 CEST\nLocation:  Salle de Colloque 3, Radiology, HUG, Geneva\n \nPratik Mukherjee\nUniversity of California, San Francisco\nAbout the speaker \nDr. Mukherjee MD PhD, Professor of Radiology and Bioengineering at UCSF, is a clinical neuroradiologist and computational neuroscientist whose research focuses on technical development and basic & clinical neuroscience applications of imaging gray matter and white matter microstructure, connectivity and function in the human brain. He has experience in standardizing structural MRI (sMRI), diffusion MRI (dMRI), and functional MRI (fMRI) for large-scale multicenter projects and managing Big Data using cloud-based informatics platforms and AI/ML analytics, which is essential for the clinical translation of new imaging technology. He is a Principal Investigator (PI) and the Imaging Core leader for the Transforming Research and Clinical Knowledge in Traumatic Brain Injury (TRACK-TBI) multicenter population-based observational study, its long-term follow-up study (TRACK-TBI LONG), clinical trials network (TRACK-TBI NET) and other multicenter longitudinal studies of acute TBI in children and adults. Dr. Mukherjee is also PI of advanced sMRI/dMRI/fMRI studies of children with neurodevelopmental disorders funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Heart Association (AHA). He also served as a PI and the Clinical Team Leader of two NIH Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neuro-technologies (BRAIN) multi-center grants to produce transformational advances in 7 Tesla (7T) MR technology for bringing noninvasive human cortical imaging to the mesoscale.\nJOIN US ON SITE!\nYou are welcome to join us on site at the Salle de Colloque 3, Radiology, HUG in GenevaThe event is for free and registration is not required.\n
